Tutorial Presentations

The tutorials are designed to help students master the content. The program divides the subject matter into small segments to facilitate the learning process. To promote learner interactivity, practice items are interwoven throughout the tutorials.

Video Clips

Video clips are weaved throughout the program to appeal to the visual learner. Video segments consist of a narrator explaining the various aspects of physical assessment while a nurse demonstrates each technique. The narrator explains possible abnormal findings and etiologies. Animations are also used to demonstrate ideas and processes.

Audio

Throughout the tutorial units students may choose to listen to an audio track of the narrator reading the text on the screen. The Audio track is very beneficial to people who are predominately auditory learners. A reading of the text is also useful in helping students learn proper pronunciation of terminology.

Printouts

The program provides students with many printouts of pertinent information. These printouts can be saved for further study. Students may also print their test scores.

Practice Items

Every unit contains practice items. These practice items provide immediate reinforcement of the information presented as well as opportunities for students to evaluate their understanding of a concept. After selecting an answer, students are provided with immediate feedback about the correctness of their response.
