Anita Kinser Maradiaga, EdD, RN, BCNursing and Healthcare
Anita Kinser Maradiaga, EdD, RN-BC, has 30 years experience in nursing with 15 years as an educator in ADN, BSN, MSN, and DNP programs. She is Board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Nursing Informatics and served as a member of the ANCC’s Content Expert Panel for Nursing Informatics from 2004–2008. She is an Associate Professor and Nursing Education Resource Specialist for Riverside City College (RCC) School of Nursing, Riverside, CA, an adjunct Associate Professor for Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA, and an online mentor for BSN and MSN students with Thomas Edison State College, Trenton, NJ.
As a Nursing Education Resource Specialist, her focus has been on assessment and remediation of at risk nursing students, and integration of technology into nursing education curriculum. Dr. Kinser Maradiaga also has experience in developing and coordinating Human Patient Simulator labs and online nursing education programs, as well as teaching online.
As a 2009 Health Information Technology Scholar (HITS) with the National League for Nursing, she helped RCC emerge as a leader in the integration of electronic medical records into undergraduate nursing education. She currently serves as a consultant to nursing programs needing assistance in the integration of Nursing Informatics into nursing curriculum. Dr. Kinser Maradiaga was acknowledged for teaching excellence in the 2003 and 2005 editions of Who's Who Among America's Teachers. She has presented nationally at a number of conferences; her publications include articles in the Journal of Nursing Education and Nurse Educator. Dr. Kinser Maradiaga co-authored Start Right in Nursing School, a nursing student self-assessment software program with Dr. Linda Caputi and has served as a reviewer for a number of nursing texts including Teaching Nursing: The Art & Science, Volume 4. |
